Lecture Abstract：
Due to the various advantages of ultrasonography when compared with MRI or other imaging modalities, musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS) has gradually become an essential skill of physicians managing a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders. Ultrasound is inexpensive, non-invasive, and easily accessible, does not involve radiation, and provides comparative real-time imaging during dynamic maneuvers. MSKUS can help physicians in disease diagnosis, setting treatment plans, and moreover, guiding tools such as injection needles to the exact locations of pathology. With MSKUS, the precision and effectiveness of disease diagnosis and treatment for physicians increased, thus, professionalism enhanced. Besides the abovementioned advantages, MSKUS is also a good tool for research. For example, sonoelastography helps physicians to detect the stiffness changes before the morphological changes, helping them in the early diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal disorders. Recently, the enhancement of ultrasound imaging ability enables us to detect and guide the treatment of nerve pathology. MSKUS thus gradually extends to the neurological field and thus was renamed neuromusculoskeketal ultrasound (NMSKUS). We welcome physicians of different specialties to visit us and learn MSKUS examination. We also host many hand-on workshops for beginners to start the journal of learning MSKUS. MSKUS will be the second stethoscope for all physicians and everyone should be familiar with it. Intensive practices are the most important steps before becoming a MSKUS master.
